These Machines kill Fascism: Avelino Sala
Within the framework of Barcelona Gallery Weekend, ADN Galeria presents These Machines kill Fascism, an Avelino Sala solo show. His work talks about inequality and dystopia associated with colonialism and war, very current in a dystopian present where the war industry is once again a horizon to which social needs are subordinated. The exhibition will open Thursday, September 18 at 19.00 h.
This exhibition will showcase a series of recent works that will combine with others that have marked his recent career, such as his participation in the 2024 Malta Biennale, against the new forms of war and oppression that lead to inequality and the consumption of the planet and its natural resources.
Sometime in 1941, as World War II intensified, Woody Guthrie scribbled “This machine kills fascists” on his acoustic guitar and the slogan became an icon of left-wing political activism.
