This
work is part of a research project that explores menopause and female aging
through various art forms and the artist’s personal experience. This project
challenges ageism by creating a visual narrative of middle-aged women and
reimagining representations of old age. Inspired by online testimonials from
menopausal women, the work consists in 55 photographic collages that capture young,
middle-aged and mature women based on photographs, torn advertising posters,
and depictions of women, all reflecting the passage of time in a
collage/décollage aesthetic.
