Artist Fábio Colaço is participating in Os teus direitos, a tua voz! Cidadania e Democracia nos 50 Anos do Provedor de Justiça, a group exhibition opening on 15 October 2026 at Palácio Vilalva, the headquarters of the Provedoria de Justiça, in Lisbon.
Curated by Paulo Mendes, the exhibition forms part of the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the Portuguese institution. It brings together historical documentation and contemporary artworks to explore citizenship, democracy and the protection of fundamental rights.
The exhibition takes visitors through three spaces within the palace, where the history and work of the Provedoria de Justiça are brought into dialogue with contemporary artworks spanning the 1960s to the present day. The project highlights the institution’s role in protecting citizens’ rights and shaping Portuguese society.
Fábio Colaço is among a wide selection of participating artists, including Paula Rego, Pedro Cabrita Reis, Julião Sarmento and Kiluanji Kia Henda, among others.
The exhibition runs from 15 October 2026 to 23 April 2027 at Palácio Vilalva, Lisbon.
