The director of ADN Galeria takes part in a conversation addressing the challenges and particularities of building and consolidating the programme of a mid-sized gallery.
On 5 and 6 October 2026, the MACBA in Barcelona hosts a new edition of Talking Galleries – Barcelona Symposium, an annual gathering that brings together gallerists and professionals from across the art world to address some of the issues currently shaping the contemporary art sector and market.
As part of this 12th edition, Miguel Ángel Sánchez, founder and director of ADN Galeria, takes part in the conversation “Shaping a Gallery Programme: The Mid-Sized Perspective”, alongside Jennifer Chert, co-founder and director of ChertLüdde in Berlin, and Jocelyn Wolff, founder of Galerie Jocelyn Wolff in Paris. The session is moderated by Phin Jennings, writer and researcher.
The conversation focuses on how mid-sized galleries build, develop and consolidate their programmes, as well as on the decisions and strategies that contribute to establishing a distinctive and sustainable identity within today’s art world.
Miguel Ángel Sánchez’s participation in the symposium forms part of ADN Galeria’s trajectory, having been founded in Barcelona in 2003 with the aim of operating as a hybrid platform between commercial mediation and cultural contribution. The gallery’s programme focuses on content-driven contemporary artistic practices and on reflection around the social, political and cultural contexts in which they develop.
Through this participation, ADN Galeria joins a programme that this year addresses issues including the evolving role of galleries, new generations of collectors, the transformation of the online art market, digital art, and new models of management and collaboration within the contemporary art field.
