Works of a decade: Daniel & Geo Fuchs

Overview
The first retrospective exhibition of German artists Daniel & Geo Fuchs Works of a decade will open at ADN Galeria on November the 27th at 19h30 p.m. (open to public until January the 19th in 2008). Worldwide considered as wellknown and appreciated names in the photography domain, Daniel & Geo Fuchs started working together more than ten years ago; during their career they won several international prestigious awards.
The exhibition will include works from the series Conserving, Famous Eyes, Stasi and Toys, in which the artists developed during ten years original artistic projects (Conserving, Famous Eyes) and sociopolitical ones (Stasi, Toys), stressing each work with a personal style that can be defined as “analytic” and close to cataloguing. Each portrait, either from alive characters, dead subjects or puppets, has a mainly frontal perspective, as it was a passportsize shot; the aseptic rooms of Stasi reflect the coolness and the seriousness of the represented places: neutral colors, simplicity andrigidity of the lines and shapes, just like the regime was, tidy and ordered just like archives are.
