Feminist activist and artist, she´ve explored with sensibility the theme of the human body and our relation to death, nature and beauty. From the second half of the 90s, Kiki Smith abandone the human body as a subjet-matter and focuses on the relationship of humanity and other species. She sketches directly from death speciments, representing these creatures isolated on virgin backgrounds to call attention on their form and the symbolic resonance instead of on their natural environments.
