In the project En la Pampa, Jordi Colomer wonders if it is possible to inhabit the desert. With this question in mind, he constructs a fictional scene where he invites a young couple of non-actors to experience certain situations in that desolate setting. The main guideline for the actors was to improvise based on various given actions, such as washing a car near an abandoned cemetery, for example. The images were taken at the Santa Isabel office, in the Atacama desert (North of Chile). The "offices" were cities built for workers during the exploitation of the saltpeter mines. Some are uninhabited, and in most only the remains of the cemetery were left.
